RANDOM THOUGHTS: AIRPLANE DELAYS

Life is what happens between airplane delays. .... Speaking of delays, I think airline personnel are getting a bit cynical. I asked one worker why my flight was being delayed - weather, security or mechanical problems -  one representative replied "What would you like to hear?"

...  But the airlines are getting in line with truth in labeling. My flight had “Food not fit to eat for sale.” ... But there are signs some airline companies are improving. I got an email from United asking "Is there anything we could do to improve your flight?" I replied “Double my leg room and cut the fare in half." United said the company would think about it. ... Glad to see Las Vegas is still demonstrating its traditional values. After we landed and I got to the tram at the airport and saw the large posters for the “Chippendales” and “Thunder Down Under" (the Aussie stripper show)  I knew those values were intact. ...“Money happens,” I told the guy in the seat next to me. “What you do mean that ‘Money happens’”? he retorted. “That makes no sense.” “Oh it makes perfect sense. ‘What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.’ Money happens in Vegas.” ... Vegas is so expensive. I think I dropped $50 at the Dunkin Donuts Casino and Resort... When you dive below the glitter and the hype of Los Vegas into the city’s inner soul, you find more glitter and hype. ... Having a convention of accountants in Las Vegas is a moral contradiction. You have a group that is committed  to standards and accuracy visiting a city that wishes it did not have to bother. … In another remake of “Planet of the Apes’” the actor playing Charlton Heston’s character will stumble through the wasteland and happen upon lady Liberty’s up thrust arm—at the New York New York casino. “Let the apes have it,” he snorts. … Nature abhors a vacuum, which is why dogs run from them.
