OEMS ADOPT DYNAMICS AS ENGINE

Kirill Tatarinov, MBSMicrosoft has announced several agreements with software companies that are utilizing Dynamics applications as the engine of their financial applications. This is an initiative that has been underway for several years in which Microsoft argues that vendors can concentrate on providing their own vertical expertise instead of having to spend time developing the basic accounting product.

The latest companies that have opted for a Dynamics AX base are Cenium in the hospitality and hotel application market and Campus Management, which offers software for higher education organizations. Also joining in are Cincom Systems, whose range of products includes manufacturing ERP, Pros Pricing, which provides pricing software, and Technosoft, which offers applications to the healthcare and professional services markets. If this was the highlight of what was being announced at the Worldwide Partner Conference - and this came in the keynote by MBS head Kirill Tatarinov - then not much happened on the Dynamics side. WPC this year appeared to be primarily the Windows 8 promo event.
