INTUIT TO TALK BIG DATA

Brad Smith, IntuitThe words "Intuit" and "Big Data" have not previously been linked. But the company is getting ready to discuss this year's hot buzz words in a teleconference with CEO Brad Smith next week. Exactly the direction this discussion will take is not known except that Smith is scheduled to discuss an Intuit-commissioned research report.
The report is titled, “The New Data Democracy: How Big Data Will Revolutionize the Lives of Small Business and Consumers” which will be released to the public the day after the presentation. The impact of big data on Intuit's growth was mentioned and it does not take much imagination to expect that big data will feature somewhere in the company's product plans. How about a QuickBooks data warehouse? Eh, probably not. On the other hand, Intuit has probably gathered enough data on small business through QuickBooks and TurboTax, and increasingly its payments programs that it should have a gold mine in data if that can be massaged probably. Some, you could see the output having commercial value.
