SAP PUTS BIZ ONE ON HANA

SAPSAP has introduced a version of Business One of Hana, its in-memory database platform. The product is in what the company called restricted shipment, which for the moment means it is not available in the United States; that will come later in the year. But it marks the continuing spread of SAP’s hottest technology through all parts of its financial software product line.

The main advantage in the performance provided by Hana, according to the company, is a substantial improvement in speed, which it says is necessary to cope with the rapid growth of data. The new Biz One version is available to members of SAP’s PartnerEdge program. A developer edition is being readied by SAP and Portugal Telecom and is intended to provide a fully configured environment to help accelerate development of extensions and add-ons built on the Hana cloud platform. Just for the record the full name of the product is SAP Business One for SAP HANA, which I will generally be boycotting. Obviously, software publishers do not employ headline writers when naming products
