QBES HAS GANGBUSTER YEAR Featured

intuitQuickBooks Enterprise Solutions racked up its best year ever in terms of the increase of number of active users. The somewhat midmarket product had 92,000 active users when Intuit's year ended on July 31, an increase of 26,000 from 73,000 at the end of fiscal 2012. Sequentially, the year-end total was 8.2-percent higher than the 85,000 on the books at the end of the third quarter.

And what this year has shown is not just increases in sales, but an acceleration of those increases. It's too bad that the product is not big enough to warrant discussion during Intuit's financial webcasts because this market would be interested in details. What the results do show is the continuing threat to the lower-level products in the midmarket and presumably why vendors of products sold by resellers keep pushing their products higher. The future at the low end of the Dynamics GP and Sage 100 effort are limited. It's worth remember that QBES was designed for customers who were outgrowing QuickBooks and would be candidates for mid-market products so taking this big a chunk out of the prospect pool is significant.
