SAGE ONE EXTRA DEBUTS IN 2014 Featured

 Connie Certusi, SageSage One Extra, the next level of Sage’s online accounting software system, is expected to be introduced in the United States this year. Connie Certusi, EVP of Sage’s Small Business Solutions Group described Extra as a ‘more robust online accounting solution built on the Sage One platform.” It will serve “maybe up to the 20-employee space,” she said at this week’s Sage Summit conference in Las Vegas, noting, of course, that use also depends on a company’s needs. It will have multi-currency features, cash analysis and accrual reporting.

The first version of the product, Sage One Accounts Extra, is already being sold in the United Kingdom. Also at the conference, Sherry Willman, product planning manager, detailed moves made in April with Sage 50, although not publicized beyond users. Sage eliminated its long-standing Complete edition, leaving Pro, Premium and Quantum as the “good, better, best” kind of approach for the Sage 50 line. Editions for nonprofits, construction, distribution and manufacturing organizations were also dropped as it was believed these were better covered with Quantum, which also had editions for those markets. Willman and marketing VP Scott White outlined other changes that accompanied a switch to three annual releases of Sage 50 in place of the historical one. Two- and four-user versions were added for Premium, which had one-, three- and five-user editions. New user levels were also added for Quantum, topping off at 40 users.
