ProdwareProdware, a European Dynamics VAR, says operating income for the first half ended June 30 was about $12.3 million, an increase of 18.5 percent from the same period in 2013. Net income reached about $5.3 million, a decrease of 18.1 percent from last year's corresponding period. However, the year earlier results included a tax credit of roughly $1.1 million.

Prodware, which operates in France, Spain and the United Kingdom, released first half revenue in July, but only published the earnings numbers last month. It also takes some time for the company to publish results in English, after the initial release in French. First-half revenue reached about $112.5 percent, down 4 percent, but rose about 3.2 percent on what are essentially continuing operations. The discussion of reasons behind the results was limited. However, in the earnings release, the company commented, "This growth was driven by the dynamics of the activity in the French-speaking zone, Spain and the U.K. and the continued growth of own software vendor activities which represent a priority development focus for Prodware." That switch to VARs selling their own software is very noticeable this year.
