HOUILLON EXITING SAGE Featured

Pascal Houillon, SagePascal Houillon is leaving his job as CEO of Sage's America's operation. The move, effective this week, is said by Sage to be a matter of leaving the business to broaden his career outside of Sage." Don't you love the phrase? Anyway, Sage made the announcement with the release of results for the half end March 31. The company says it is looking for a permanent president of Sage North America, which you may notice is not the same title.

Houillon had Brazil added to his duties at one point. A lot of us were expecting this. Reports are when John Pullen was hired by the British management  as sales EVP in February, nobody in the U.S. knew he was starting until he showed up at offices here. With the hiring or promotion of people to global titles, it also seemed logical that the management structure would be retooled. This breaks the French connection for Sage with Guy Berruyer leaving last year to be replaced by English dynamo Steve Kelley last fall. I say "dynamo" because if you listen to Kelley's presentations, there's no missing the level of energy. And since he was able to bring organization to the IT organization as COO of the government of Great Britain, you'd think he should be able to handle Sage.
