SIKICH ABSORBS ALTICO ADVISORS Featured

AlticoAccounting firm Sikich has acquired Altico Advisors, a midmarket reseller based in Marlborough, Mass. With $45 million in revenue, Naperville, Ill.-based Sikich was No. 9 on Bob Scott's Insights Top 100 VARs for 2015. Altico was No. 59 with $7.9 million in revenue. The acquired firm carried Dynamics GP and CRM and NetSuite Sikich carries those and Dynamics AX, NAV and SP. Altico was founded in February 2005 by CEO Michael Kean, who had been a director at the former Tectura.

The Sikich website also shows it carries Epicor and Abila MIP, although those products were not mentioned in the Altico press release or its Top 100 submission. Altico also handles Adaptive Insights. With the Columbus purchase of Interdyn BMI in February, we are likely in for a round of consolidation of quality VARs. Microsoft's drive to build up reselling organizations, particularly in the AX market, should spur further activity. A substantial part of the Sage market has coalesced into Net@Work, Blytheco, DSD Business Solutions, SWK Technologies and ADSS Global. The Altico deal also seems to ensure that accounting firms will continue to be strong in the Top 10 of the list. Besides Sikich, the others are No. 1  McGladrey (soon to be known as RSM), No. 6, Crowe Horwath; and No. 7.
