CONVERGENCE ATTENDANCE PUSH ON

Convergence logoThe push to get attendees to Microsoft Convergence at the end of April is on. Perhaps I haven't paid attention to this in past years, but it does seem like there's more effort going into putting notices on resellers' home pages and into the Dynamics community of Microsoft's Web site than in prior years. Is that because the economy has the host making an extra effort or Microsoft is also worried that not everybody is eager to rush to Atlanta?

Maybe they can offer a special on pralines and Brunswick stew? But, alas, the Dynamics Community page is only offering $300 off for those who register by March 3, and I don't know how that compares with prior-year promotions. The company also launched the Microsoft Dynamics Convergence Discussion forum which is billed as "An ongoing forum dedicated to all things Convergence: news, updates, keynote speaker announcements, session changes and the latest attendee chatter." Right now, there's about as much chatter as in the "Visit Beautiful Shutter Island" forum. Of the two posts, one was the welcome posted on January 7, and the other information about a golf outing. Maybe last year’s trend of fewer attendees who are more serious about buying will continue.
