SAGE: WHAT'S IN A TITLE? Featured

Connie Certusi, SageAs bodies continue to fly at Sage, one thing caught my eye on LinkedIn. The title for long-time executive Connie Certusi has changed from VP, general manager to VP, managing director on her page. "We're moving to standard titles across the globe and the new precise title is 'Managing Director.' The overall role is basically the same though," she wrote in a response to an email question. Well, MD is often the person running a geography.

For example, there is Lee Perkins, EVP and managing director and the United Kingdom and Ireland since a year ago; an interesting development. Meanwhile, reports are that bodies flew as Sage executes its plan to move its North American headquarters to Atlanta, Ga., from Irvine, Calif., the legacy HQ from the State of the Art days. I put this in the category of minor layoff from what I hear and maybe a good excuse to revamp marketing. Anyway, Irvine-based Sophie Leguillette, VP of marketing, is gone after seven years, Sage confirms. The rumor mill has it that some executive announcements are in the offing and given the fact that CFO Marc Scheipe has been acting president of Sage North America since Pascal Houillon exited, it's time there was something in the offing. For technical accuracy, Houillon's LinkedIn profile says he left in May while Scheipe's shows he assumed the interim job in March.
