The Geico GeckoAfter the end of long-running, Law and Order SVU (Special Victims Unit), the next series planned in the crime story franchise is Law and Order SUV, in which detectives pursue drivers who do not know how to operate their vehicles and think they can handle three feet of snow. ... I didn't get the date, but there's a National Send a Nude day. I would like to participate, but think they'd fit in the Fedex package.

Oh, they mean nude photos? ... I was on a San Jose, Calif., street in an area that had lots of trendy restaurants. I went into one restaurant and placed an order. I got a plate of Chinese noodles welded to an iron bar. "What kind of restaurant is this?" I demanded of the waiter. "As our sign says, it's clearly Asian fusion," he replied. ... I was on an airplane and dreamed I had visited the past. But when I awoke, I decided it must simply be because I was on a midnight flight out of San Francisco airport that each seat had a pillow and blanket. ... I spent a day in New Orleans sidelined with some kind of gastrointestinal distress. Of course, in a city that has 24/7 drinking, I would have fit right in on the street if I had gone outside. But as I said in last week's newsletter "Laissez les bons temps Rolaids!" ... Some of the ladies hanging around the entrance to some of the clubs on Bourbon Street look like candidates for Jenny Craig. "Lady, you're too much woman for me," I said as I declined an invitation. "Much too much." ... There's a rumor insurance company, Geico, will dump its animated Gecko spokesperson, perhaps stimulated by a "Woman's Day" article about "Eighteen tasty gecko recipes." Fortunately, it turned out to be a rumor sponsored by Geico's previous spokespeople, the Cavemen. ... And in an update to the Disney cartoon version of "Beauty and the Beast," the story line is ruined when pranksters completely shave the Beast while he is asleep.
