Scott Ehman, SageSage X-3 is increasingly running into the Tier One products. And the software company is looking at larger firms for the product's channel. "We are increasingly seeing Sage X-3 go up against Oracle and SAP," Scott Ehman, Sage's VP of North America partner strategy and sales, said during a recent interview.

Ehman talked about courting firms such as PWC and EY. Asked if Sage is actively recruiting organizations at that level, he replied, "We are scratching at those guys." Ehman said Sage is looking at its whole approach to recruiting because of "that need for different partners that come into play." He also talked about moving into the enterprise area with selected verticals. While this is a new approach for Sage in North America, it is fairly standard for other mid-market players. However, Ehman said Sage has had some experience with organizations at that level of the market. "We have had some good success with Deloitte and PWC in the United Kingdom," he said. But in this country, "We are in early stages of building out strategic alliances."
