Karl Fahrbach, SAPSAP has opened access to its software portfolio so its partners can develop fixed-scope package applications for small and midsize enterprises. The packages created will be based on SAP software and expanded via a partner's services and intellectual property, the company said this week.

“The main goal of the new strategy is to offer customers a wider set of solutions to meet their individual requirements within an affordable price range,” said Karl Fahrbach, SAP's head of global channels, said in a prepared statement. SAP said participants will be subject to a “rigorous qualification process …" Developers will also be listed on SAP.com to give customers direct access to the software products and there will be joint go-to-market activities for partners active in the SME space.
