Derek Ochs, MacolaMacola Software has released Macola 10.7, the latest version of the venerable software package. It is the first important product introduction since Macola was acquired by ECi Software Solutions.

The changes enable customers to tailor “their product to meet their specific needs, without the maintenance and upgrade headaches,”  Derek Ochs, Macola’s director of development, said in a prepared statement. Among important new features were “virtually” eliminating version lock, Macola said.. The software company also has introduced another round of API coverage, which is described as providing “visibility of real-time data and control of enterprise processes through integrated third-party apps. “Macola also incorporated “at a glance” status indicators, which lets customer service personnel determine of the status of orders. The features and options configurator has been “dramatically simplified to increase speed and simplicity when getting orders into the system.” In addition, customers who use multiple divisions can toggle between them without disrupting workflow.
