INFOR: INTEGRATORS KICKING IN Featured

Charles Phillips, InforInfor says its work with systems integrators is ramping up. The software company did not provide many details as it reported financial results for the first quarter ended July 31.

However, CEO Charles Phillips noted during an earnings conference call what he called “increased joint pursuit with systems integrators” of prospects and customers. For the recently reported quarter, the bottom line rebounded to net income of $77.3 million from a loss of $175.3 million in last year’s corresponding period. Contributing to that was a 10.1-percent decline in sales and marketing expenses to $117.8 million from $131.1 million in last year’s corresponding period. Other factors were a $2.7-million drop in acquisition costs and a nearly $8-million decline in amortization of intangible assets and depreciation. The top line reflected the continuing shift to cloud products from desktop applications. Revenue rose to $782.7 million in the most recently ended quarter, a 2.4-percent rise from $759.7  million a year earlier. Phillips was pleased with maintenance revenue of $351 million, which was flat compared to last year. That category is impacted by the switch from desktop to SaaS sales, with revenue from that source rising 26.9 percent to $156.2 million from $123.1 million.
