SAGE CFO BECOMES CEO Featured

Steve Hare, SageThe Sage Group took what seems a logical route, and quick route, to getting a new CEO. It has named CFO Steve Hare to the top job. He replaces Steve Kelly, who was booted on August 31, a month before the company ended its fiscal year on September 30.

Hare joined the company on Jan 3, 2014 in the top financial job and was named interim COO when Kelly left. Sage says Hare will continue to act as CFO until a replacement can be found. Hare came to Sage after serving as a partner with private equity group Apax Partner from August 2009 through December 2013. Apax owned Epicor Software, before selling it to KKR during the summer and still owns the Netherlands-based Exact. Kelly became CEO in November 2014.
