CDC SOFTWARE EXPANDS IN CHINA
Newly public CDC Software, which derives about half of its revenue from sales in the United States, moved to establish itself in China with the acquisition of up to 51 percent ownership of a Chinese ERP software company in mid-September.
It followed that up this week by announcing it had signed seven reselling organizations to peddle its products in vertical markets in China. Based in Hong Kong and Atlanta, CDC will acquire up to a 51-percent stake in Beijing-based Hejia Software Technology as part of the CDC Software franchise partner program. The terms call for the acquisition to occur in three tranches before March 31, 2012. Hejia markets the Web-based HJSOFT line, which offers supply chain, ERP and CRM features. CDC said it has seven other franchise partners located in India, China, South America, Spain and Mexico. The resellers will push the company's Ross ERP, Pivotal CRM and CDC HRM applications in Chinese markets including chemical, discrete and jewelry and fashion manufacturing.
