EXACT GIVES UP ON SAAS UNIT
Exact Group, whose Exact Software operations market the Macola and Progression ERP packages, has decided that whatever the merits of Software as a Service, owning a company that produces Web-based applications wasn't a good idea. The unit, AllSolutons, which is also based in the Netherlands, sells a SaaS product called WebSolutions QX.
Exact acquired a 70 percent interest in 2005 and the rest in 2008. But Exact, saying that "insufficient strategic synergies have materialized between Exact and AllSolutions” decided to sell the company. AllSolutons was sold to Dolfin Capital, which privatized the operation.
