COLUMBUS IT'S AX SALES TANK IN AMERICAS


It wasn't a good year for many companies, but revenue from Dynamics AX slid sharply in the Americas, according to Columbus IT, as it reported results for 2009. While Dynamics NAV sales were unchanged at $5.8 million at the current value of the dollar, the Dynamics AX results were $11.7 million for 2009, down 47 percent from 2008 when measured in Danish kroner. The company discussed the overall drop in American results as related to the sale of subsidiaries last year, but did not touch upon the impact on specific products.
But AX also took a beating elsewhere with its income in Western Europe down 26.4 percent and down 26.2 percent in Eastern Europe. The only region in which AX sales grew as the Nordic one, with revenue up 7.6 percent. An inquiry was sent to the CFO of the Copenhagen, Demark-based operation. Revenue for North and South Americas fell to $17.5 million for the most recently year, off 43.5 percent. Factoring in the divestiture of subsidiaries and currency, the revenue in the Americas was off 20 percent, the company said. Company-wide revenue dropped about 15.6 percent to about $152.4 million. Columbus IT lost about $3.2 million this past year compared to income of roughly $4.2 million in 2008, measured at current exchange rates.
