SAP:BILL AND JIM'S INTERNET ADVENTURE

First, a press release issued on May 18 from Sapphire, its major show, had the headline: “Co-CEOs Mark Achievements From First 100 Days in Office, Including Enhanced Engagement With Employees, New Development Approach to Accelerate Innovation and Strong First Quarter Financial Performance.” Most corporate releases aren’t modest, but celebrating 100 days for CEOs is a bit unusual. Then there’s the section, Social Newsrooms, which contain three blogs. Two of these are Sapphire Now, and Innovation, and these have some of the most creative blog entries I've seen from a vendor. The third is the intriguing one, called, “Bill and Jim” , which opens to the full name “Bill and Jim’s Newsroom.” It suggests someone has made the decision to display personality as part of the leadership style. Corporate blogs are a tricky thing. Many executives who start them lack the time to post enough entries to keep them interesting. Can these guys pull it off? Maybe it’s just they’ve got a good creative team behind them. But it's fun to watch.
