RADIANT SYSTEMS REVS UP 20 PERCENT

Radiant Systems logoPOS specialist Radiant Systems, whose offerings include the CounterPoint line, continued on a tear as its third quarter ended September 30 resulted in net income more than double last year while revenue rose by 26 percent over the third quarter a year earlier.  Earnings reached $7.5 million, compared to $3.4 million a year earlier with operating income having risen by 35 percent. Revenue was $89.2 million, up from $70.9 million.
The company is expanding overseas, having reached a deal with a Brazilian partner. CEO John Heyman said Radiant is developing relationships in Europe and Turkey. The company said retail revenues are increasing at 20 percent a year with specialty retail growing at a faster rate, which it did not disclose. Executives said Radiant has only a roughly 2 percent share of specialty retail market and expect to see that grow significantly as it increases the number of sales reps addressing that market by 20 percent.
