ACCPAC PORTAL DEBUTS NEXT MONTH
Resellers for Sage North America have been talking much of the year about the upcoming release of Accpac 6.0, code name Orion, which appears to be one of the most strategic software moves coming from the organization over the next year or two. Sage released a few details in response to a request for its comment on a NetSuite press releases, issued this week, about the number of Sage customers it had converted. (See related item, this issue).
For Accpac 6.0, first out the door is a portal in which CRM integration is the most important piece. "The portal will be the headliner. Sales quote to order integration is a big part of our initial launch," says Laurie Schultz, SVP and general manager for mid-market ERP solutions. She notes that continues the integration that Accpac and SageCRM have had for some time. That first module is slated for a December 11 introduction and during the next 12 months Sage is planning to deploy all other Accpac 6.0 modules on the Web. Sage says Accpac’s hosted service has experienced double-digit growth, although it did not provide any specific numbers.
