CRM SWITCHING PROGRAMS FLOURISH
Maybe it’s just an end-of-the-year push, but programs aimed at getting customers to abandon Salesforce.com are in full bloom. SugarCRM is offering a 50-percent reduction in annual subscription fees as part of the “Switch to Sugar” programs that also provides free data migration to Salesforce.com users who move to Sugar 6-CRM. Microsoft is going the same direction in promoting Dynamics CRM Online through the “Cloud CRM for Less” offer for Salesforce.com and Oracle customers.
Eligible switchers can get up to $200 for each user making the move to the Dynamics product. Microsoft, however, is not handing out cash, since it said the offer could be applied to services such as migrating data or customization. (I love Microsoft’s language “customizing the solution to meet unique business needs”. That is as opposed to customization to design common business needs?). Going back to the question of December sales, these promos suggest that buying from new prospects isn’t as great in the CRM business as it once was, Why spend so much time luring switchers if the market had the booming demand that we have previously seen from first-time CRM purchasers?
