FUJITSU HITS ACCOUNTING MARKET

Fujitsu has entered an alliance with sales-and-use tax vendor SpeedTax to reach accounting firms. And while potential relationships with resellers have yet to be detailed, it seems probable they will be. In the meantime, Kimberly Hogan, who heads the company's initiative, said Fujitsu intends to enter relationships with organizations in areas that include bill management and payment workflow, tax preparation, supply chain management, and stock options management.

The SpeedTax alliance has put out a white paper authored by New Jersey CPA Jim Bourke and the companies plan to produce more pieces along the same lines and also to co-present Webinars designed for CPAs. According to Hogan, her goal is "to position Fujitsu ScanSnap and our network scanners as part of an overall solution for firms, and as part of a total message that includes cloud computing, client portals and document management."
