ROSE TWITTER FANS TOP 20K
Rose Business Solutions, a Dynamics VAR headquartered in San Diego, is pretty serious about Twitter – it topped 20,000 followers in January and now has 22,906 followers. “We have a process down and it works. About 11 percent of the traffic on our sites comes from Twitter. For myGPcloud this has equated to customer adds.
So yes, I think it is working, but not to the extent one would hope,” owner Linda Rose said yesterday. Rose is about a $4.2 million business and for comparison I did a quick search on the Web and the closest I found was Big Four accounting firm Deloitte which has 4,946 followers. Deloitte’s revenue for North America was $11.9 billion for fiscal 2010 so there’s a difference of scale. None of the other VAR sites are in the same universe – and it looks like a lot aren’t on Twitter. Among those that are Tribridge had 558 followers; ePartners, 177; Blytheco, 348; and Net@Work, 418; which takes care of some of the larger representatives of both the Sage and Microsoft channel. The Rose press release noted “Rose Business Solutions typically tweets 150 messages each month on events, tips on Microsoft Dynamics GP, training topics and links to videos.” Rose also follows 24,764 Twitterers. Its other entities are also dong well with RoseASP racking up 18,000 followings and myGPCloud, a new effort, merely, 6,000, but growing.
