EPICOR SEES SAAS GROWTH AHEAD

Epicor logoEpicor expects sales of its Epicor Manufacturing Express Edition, the cloud version of Epicor 9, are going to expand significantly over the next two years. Speaking this week at the 1st Annual Signal Hill Technology Conference, CEO George Klaus said there were about 150,000 small and medium manufacturers “that we can sell our SaaS solution into.” The company had about 40 customers last year following the product's introduction and Klaus predicted user growth will boom.

“We expect to generate 8 to 10 times that this year as our SaaS solution starts to penetrate … and we see that doubling the following year.” Doing the math, that would be an upper limit of around 400 users in 2011 and 800 users in 2012. Klaus said one of the benefits of the product is that users who outgrow the product can move to the on-premise version easily. Klaus used the forum to return to his theme that if buyers deal with other mid-market companies, they deal with a reseller. Deal with Epicor and you deal with the company and have one set of consultants who are following the same game plan. I suppose George forgot the award his company won for its reselling channel last year. After that, he started talking about the channel for a few months.
