DEFENDING DYNAMICS GP

It was just a post by one person on the Microsoft Dynamics Community site, a statement that GP isn’t dead and there’s a lot coming in the next release. The idea that Microsoft has oiled a creaky product came in a reseller conversation that indicated there are a lot of welcome changes. But a succession of information on that website looks like someone is drumming up cheerleaders for products other than Dynamics AX.

The last issue of this newsletter discussed a YouTube interview in which Guy Wiesmantel, Microsoft director of ERP marketing, said that AX is not the favorite child in the Dynamics line. The post with the headline “GP Is Here to Stay and Microsoft Is in No Mood to Discontinue with GP” was based on a presentation made in one of the international regions at a Microsoft Dynamics GP Customer Event. But the way the message was relayed, it’s easy to believe it’s one that Microsoft is delivering across its territories in presentations elsewhere.
