INFOR REVS UP 12 PERCENT
Infor reported revenue of $509.8 million for the fourth quarter ended May 31, an increase of 12 percent over $453.7 million a year ago. Infor? This is a company that has previously given only a general range in its annual revenue and this appears to be a company getting ready for a public offering, how soon it’s hard to tell. But there are few other reasons that I can think of as to why private companies start reporting numbers. It's been believed annual revenue is in the $2.5 billion range, but given the May year end, adjusting for seasonality would be a bit difficult.
Infor said its license revenue was $130.1 million, 28 percent over last year's results, and that this is the second straight quarter of double-digit license growth. Growth was fueled by new products that the company said brought in more than 650 new customers during the quarter. The company also broke down growth into segments and showed the following increases: ERP, up 35 percent; business intelligence and performance management, up 84 percent; public sector up 125 percent; and distribution up 33 percent. There seems to be a new Infor under CEO Charles Phillips, including the fact that I got on the press distribution list and the PR person got back to me quickly. The press release also demonstrated a less centralized approach: two VPs were quoted. In the past, announcements tended to be delivered by one executive who was the funnel for all info. A quick check showed that for the third quarter, Infor reported percentage change, but not actual revenue.
