INFOR TO INVEST IN M3

Infor logoInfor's acquisition of Lawson Software is going to be much more than buy and milk the installed base. This week, Infor said it considers Lawson's M3 product line strategic to its growth and would deliver what it called complete industry suites built around the core M3 application. M3 systems were described as "designed for companies that make, move and maintain products or equipment."

Infor plans to implement a unified look and feel, single sign-on, improved navigation, and in-context business intelligence and will utilize the Infor ION architecture "as a bridge to M3 Collaborator to create a unified and uniform middleware stack." Core M3 verticals were listed as manufacturing, distribution, fashion, food and beverage, and equipment service management and rental. The first vertical suites to come out of the gate under this plan would include Process Supply Chain Scheduling, Process Product Lifecycle Management, Corporate Performance Management (leveraging M3 Opportunity Analyzer) and Warehouse Management integrated with the core M3 application.
