NETSUITE STOPS NEW SALES TO SMALLER BIZ

Ron GillNetSuite is ignoring the girl that brought it to the online technology dance, the sub-$10,000-a-year customer. That was the message delivered today by Ron Gill, the CFO, in remarks at the Pacific Crest Technology Leadership Conference. "We simply stopped signing new business in that business. The small customers represent about 6 percent of revenue and 40 percent of customers.

They continue to receive support and services but NetSuite is not attempting to bring in new customers. That, coupled with what Gill indicated was a fairly sizable price release and the continuing increase in the average selling price of new installations, probably means that the bar will continue to rise. "We haven't made decision to raise that to $15,000 or $20,000," said Gill. But the increase in prices has that effect." As will, I suspect, the impact of any of those customers reading this news item.
