INTUIT, INFOR TEAM WITH SALESFORCE
Infor and Intuit both came out with announcements this week in which they established links with Salesforce.com. Infor said it has built three applications on Force.com, the Salesforce.com platform. Intuit released Salesforce for QuickBooks. This seems to fall into the if-you-can’t-beat them category. In 2009, Intuit introduced Customer Manager, a CRM package that was designed for 20 or fewer employees.
That product came off the market late last year and you’d have to assume Intuit decided it could do better with an alliance than developing and maintaining its own application. Infor is even more set on using other companies’ technology platforms. Earlier this year, it introduced Infor Business CRM, which is built on Dynamics CRM. The announced Infor applications utilizing Force.com are InForce Everywhere, a native Force.com application that brings ERP data into Salesforce; InForce Order Management, a quote, order and proposal management application; and InForce Marketing, which will the company said would leverage Infor CRM Epiphany, a recommendation engine, for global marketing automation technology. Infor will also develop other applications on Force.com.
