K2 HONORS … ME

In the self-serving department, K2 Enterprises, the well-known consulting group, has given me the 2011 award for coverage of the accounting industry.  This was part of K2’s 10th Annual Quality Awards. In the awards that affected the midmarket, Open Systems took away honors for its reseller program and Sage for the quality of its reseller channel.
Cyma Systems was honored for technical support and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions from Intuit was the small business solution winner. Open System’s Traverse won for its status as a QuickBooks Upgrade. Avalara took the prize as “SaaS Top Shelf.” Sage Accountants Network won for CPA program and Sage Peachtree for overall quality. Xero, getting ready to come on shore in the U.S., was selected as the quality award winner for SaaS – New Product. Looking over the roster of important names that didn’t win any awards those included Microsoft, Syspro, Epicor, NetSuite and Intacct. It’s interesting that some of the winners are not what you would call market leaders. A number of other categories were selected that primarily impact the traditional tax and accounting market.
