INFOR RENEWS VAR PUSH

Jeff Abbott, InforInfor is out to recruit new resellers while trimming hundreds of unproductive members of its channel. The push is the next step of the Infor Partner Network that was launched during the summer, according to Jeff Abbott, VP of global partners and alliances.
Abbott said this effort comes with "the re-introduction of Infor to the market place" in which its wide range of acquisitions were placed under the Infor10 brand, which provides a uniform interface and an integration platform for the applications. The common interface comes from Infor Workspace which means "You are not switching from one look and feel to the next," he says. Infor wants VARs with a minimum of 20 to 25 employees and 10 years experience and who can provide five reference customers. They must also have sales and pre-sales staff. The 150 new resellers that Abbott intends to add also will have either their own vertical applications or domain expertise that will enable them to serve the top 13 vertical sectors that Infor targets. Infor intended to keep 500 members worldwide from the previous channel. The vendor will certify applications and utilizing its Ion platform will enable them to integrate with ERP packages. "We expect these products to go to market for a long time," says Abbott. Infor says that channel revenue is up 23 percent over the prior year and the goal is to achieve 30 percent growth during the first year of the new program. Infor does not break down the number of VARs in different geographies, Abbott said 10 new dealers had been added in North America under the new program and the company is definitely seeking resellers that have carried products such as Dynamics and Sage applications.
