This month, it has rolled out Exact Max 5.5 with a new look and feel and what were called major enhancements to Lot and Serial Traceability, as well as the ability to maintain alternate processes for Bills of Materials and Routings. Exact says the traceability feature make the product well suited for manufacturers operating within regulated environments, including those in the electronics, medical device, aerospace and food-processing industries. Changes to look and feel include the ability to customize the look and the addition of moveable, drag- and-drop menus and toolbars. Users have also been given the ability to add user-defined fields. Lot and Serial Number implementation can also be customized. The company said that, for example, parts can be assigned to groups based on manufactured or purchased parts, specific commodity codes or individual parts.
