DYNAMICS REVS RISE 11 PERCENT
Microsoft says that Dynamics revenues rose 11 percent for the third quarter ended March 31, compared to results a year earlier. But that included 30-percent growth in Dynamics CRM revenue which suggests accounting software revenue grew a lot less. In an earnings webcast, the company said that it has 33,000 customers. And that is all Microsoft reports about the product line, the rest of this is filler.
But fill we must. When researching the report last week about the cancelled webinar that was to interest Office VARs in carrying CRM, I got the opinion from one reseller that CRM is being moved primarily by Microsoft's large account resellers and there seemed to be a "so-what-would-it-matter" tone regarding the possibility of the influx of Office VARs. For the record, Microsoft Business Division, which includes the Dynamics operations, had $5.8 billion in revenue, up 9 percent from $5.3 billion with the increase coming primarily from Office 2010. Business revenue rose by $649 million, up 11 percent. Where Dynamics fits in those numbers? Only Microsoft knows.
