Tamlin, based in Dallas, has two recent hires, Don Sathe and Tony Smith, who are working with their company and AccountMate to execute the strategy. The parties are telling Sage resellers that the future of MAS 500 is uncertain, especially given Sage's emphasis on the higher-end X3 product. Manufacturing Conductor is a shop floor control software package designed for small to mid-size manufacturers. Tamlin CEO Linda Bryan noted her company's use of AccountMate source code to take "advantage of all the built-in inventory capability." AccountMate has been pitching Sage resellers in general and CEO David Dierke said that his company and Tamlin understand the MAS 500 space. In a prepared statement, he also took a whack at Sage's turn towards direct sales. "AccountMate does not sell direct on any of our business financial products, maintenance or services, so resellers are assured margin on all of these items.”
