SOCIUS SIGNS SEVENTH AFFILIATE

Soicus logoSocius, one of three Microsoft Master VARs in the United States, has signed its seventh Sales Affiliate. The new partner is the Dynamics SL practice of IT Evolution Management (formerly KB Technologies, although the website still operates under that name.) IT Evolution is also an ISV and its website features five SL products. These include SL Auditor, a SOX compliance tool for that particular line.

In the recruitment of affiliates, that puts Socius a distant second behind Master VAR SBS Group, which has recruited a slew of affiliates, and ahead of Tribridge, which has one that it signed in March. That does not seem to accomplish much in helping the Microsoft program along, but it's hard not to think Tribridge became occupied with other efforts when it purchased the former ePartners at the end of 2011, The most interesting information about the Master VAR program on the Socius website is an endorsement of Socius' services in that section. The endorsement is from Alan Kahn, Managing Partner and CEO of InterDyn AKA “We have been using Socius Partner Services for almost a year now. We have found their services to be highly professional and highly effective," according to Kahn's comments. The point is not that AKA is going to become Master VAR - it is co-equal with Socius and both are members of the Interdyn consortium. Kahn pointed out that his company is a larger partner that tries to develop its own methodologies but also utilizes services and methodologies from other VARs where that make sense. And by extension, what is good for AKA, with $11 million in revenue, should be good for the much-smaller businesses that are the target of the Master VAR program.
