PERVASIVE NET, REVS RISES
With the company out for bids, Pervasive Software reported a strong increase in earnings for the third quarter ended September 30. Net income doubled to $400,000 for the most recently ended quarter, compared to $200,000 a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter was $12.7 million, up 8.5 percent from $11.7 million in last year’s corresponding period. The company received an unsolicited takeover offer from Actian Corp. on August 13 and then began soliciting bids from interested parties, including Actian. None of the other parties were identified in the Pervasive earnings release. Because of the solicitation process, the company did not host a conference call to discuss earnings.
