DYNAMICS CRM ONLINE BETA RELEASED
Microsoft makes more noise about beta releases than most companies do about final products and the roll out of Dynamics CRM Online follows that pattern. The beta is available in eight languages and 36 markets and that's excepted to hit 40 markets and 41 markets by year's end. It is available via Microsoft's data centers and is being released for customers and hosting partners for on-premise use as Dynamics CRM 2011. The product has the Office CRM ribbon and role-based users.
On the Web side, there is integration with Windows Azure. Those interested can visit http://www.crm2011beta.com. What everyone is wondering is if there is something in the works for ERP, although it's hard to envision how Microsoft would release an Internet-based version without ending up with a fifth ERP product or offering a Web-based version of one or two on-premise products and signaling the ultimate fate of the other two. I have not heard much confidence from the channel on the possibility that there's some killer product in the labs waiting to spring forth and mow down the competition. In fact, I've heard normally loyal Microsoft VARs doubting there is movement on the ERP side.
