ALFAPEOPLE EXEC MOVES TO U.S.

Per G. Mikkelsen, AlfapeoplePer G. Mikkelsen, the founder and former general manager of Alfapeople U.K., has moved into a new position for the company in the Seattle region. Since October, Mikkelsen has served as worldwide director of business development from his new location in the Pacific Northwest.

A Microsoft reseller, Alfapeople handles Dynamics AX, CRM and SharePoint, specializing in the retail industry. Founded in 2005, it moved into the United States not long after it became sort of a reconstituted Columbus (formerly Columbus IT Partner). Its CEO, Michael Gaardboe, founded and led Columbus. But in 2010, he moved to Alfapeople and purchased the Columbus operations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Germany and Switzerland. In August 2011, the company hired Claus Hansen to be COO. Hansen had been Gaardboe’s successor at Columbus and was CEO there from November 2008 until he changed companies. I had expected a bigger U.S. presence for Alfapeople but one report said the company spent its marketing money elsewhere, leaving plans unfulfilled here. I am assuming that Mikkelsen’s change in jobs has something to do with making things happen on this continent. Alfapeople's website shows that in the Americas it has 75 employees working with Dynamics CRM, 45 with AX and 25 with SharePoint. It had about $29 million in revenue worldwide in 2011. Mikkelsen's U.K. job was taken by an Alfapeople VP  Rasmus Hartung
