TWO PRONGED GP CERTIFICATION SET

Microsoft has set up two tracks for developers to certify applications for Dynamics GP 2013. The company noted this ends the practice of the last five years in which there was a single set of certification requirements. Microsoft said the change is being made because "with the evolution of partner solutions from being primarily on-premise to a mix of on-premise and cloud solutions, we realized that a single set of requirements does not fit for all partners."

The first track, applications/services, "extend the functionality of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, improving the user experience, but would not be considered an end-to-end solution." Industry Solutions "extend the functionality of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 to create a true end-to-end vertical solution." Here's the official definition for certificated products: "Solutions that are Certified for Microsoft Dynamics (CfMD) have demonstrated development quality and compatibility with the Microsoft Dynamics product on which they run."
