CCH SALES TAX OK FOR DYNAMICS AX

cch logoThe CCH Sales Tax Office has been certified for integration with Dynamics AX 2012. However, the big news with CCH is less about links to a particular software package than its showing activity in this market. CCH acquired the former SpeedTax in July 2011 and seemed to go into hibernation in the sales-and-use-tax market. The Sales Tax Office is one of three editions developed from that purchase. But one of the real metrics for CCH in this market is its visibility at the Microsoft Convergence conference, being held next week in New Orleans.

A few years ago, it purchased one of the prime spots, right at the entrance of the show floor, but then cut back to less conspicuous booths. This year, whatever its position at the show, it is sponsoring the Randy Andy Party on St. Patrick’s Day. That party is one of the hot tickets at the show, hosted by Randy Forkner of Collins Computing and Andy Vabulas of Ibis, two top Dynamics VARs. CCH is also hosting a tail-gate party on two nights and offered a meeting with product manager Jessica Balfour and a product status briefing. This is more activity than in the last four Microsoft shows. As for the AX integration? It’s the usual array of features for these products – calculations, updates on rates (via download), exemption management and so on.
