COLUMBUS REVS FLAT

Thomas Honoré, ColumbusRevenue for Columbus, the Danish Dynamics reseller, was about $40 million for the first quarter ended March 31, virtually unchanged from a year earlier. In this week's interim management report, the Copenhagen-based company said EBITDA was about $1.3 million, a 32-percent increase. Columbus said software revenue was on the same level as a year earlier, while a rise in income from consulting services helped produce the sharp improvement in EBITDA.

The sale of third-party products declined. The company did not provide additional numbers as a part of the interim report. The earnings improvement was also attributed to tight cost control and sale of Columbus software for the retail, food and manufacturing industries. Early in April, Columbus discontinued its operations in Poland. "We have decided to discontinue our activities in Poland, as the potential for running a profitable business in our auspices is no longer present," CEO Thomas Honoré said in a prepared statement. To handle business in that country, the reseller said it had entered a relationship with XPlus which it will represent its partner in other countries in which Columbus has operations.
