AND THE WINNER IS … DYNAMICS AX

Dynamics AXMicrosoft has announced of winners and finalists for the upcoming Worldwide Partner Conference. But the real winner is Dynamics AX, Among Dynamics AX-only VARs placing in three categories involving ERP is the Industry category winner mcaConnect and  finalist HSO International. That also applies to ERP winner, eBecs, and finalists Hitachi Solutions and Moscow-based GMCS (at least it seems like that when I screen out the Cyrillic script).

Tribridge, a finalist in the Cloud and ERP categories, brings some balance since it carries all four Dynamics accounting packages – AX, GP, NAV and SL. However, that doesn’t leave many of the 11 winners and finalists with other ERP packages since Cloud winner, eSavvy, is a CRM specialist and  you have to count Tribridge twice in the 11. The awards show it also doesn't hurt to be big and international either when it comes to recognition from Microsoft. Recent moves by Microsoft show AX is special and that included putting Doug Kennedy in charge was what is essentially the high-end of the AX market and so too did the formation earlier this month of strategic partnership between Microsoft and PwC. A Microsoft spokesperson said that the “This alliance is focused on the top end – the enterprise engagement model.” Let’s not forget snarling by the channel that Microsoft is moving to a direct sales model. Even though one channel observer said that’s not completely true, he commented that the Microsoft model is looking like the SAP and Infor versions.
