MICROSOFT'S DYNAMICS COMMUNITY: BLOGGING IS HARD. Featured

A blog entry this week on the Dynamics community site, by Dynamics leader Kirill Tatarinov, remarking about his seven-year career at Microsoft, shows how hard it is to keep Web sites fresh. There have been only five "Executive Insight" articles posted this year. It's hard for top people to keep these filled because of demands of their time.

The Thomson Reuters Accounting blog on that site (really a news service) shows what a blog can be. Thomson posted nine items on the Dynamics community site in August and 17 so far this month, although it pretty much took the summer off. Microsoft writers have been less profuse. The box score for blog posts: Customer Service, none since May; AX Community, three in September but only five for 2009; Sales and Marketing articles, at least one a month; Marketing Guy, none since April 2008, the only one that year; Sales & Marketing analytics, none since December. There have been three expert columns this year, the last one in April by Randy Johnston. Generally, outside authors, including Thomson, YourSalesManagement Guru, and Merit Solutions are more active than Microsoft writers, with the exception of three very active CRM blogs. Somebody should find out the CRM team's secret. An apparently new blog by The Partner Marketing Group is off to fast start since May and some of the product blogs are decently busy.
