GEM ACCOUNTS LAUNCHES SOFTWARE Featured

Andrew Crowe, Gem AccountsAustralian vendor Gem Accounts, which recently entered the American market, has launched two new versions of its accounting software. These include what is described as a full-featured free version "for the micro and small business sector." Gem says it had previously targeted only larger enterprises that had outgrown other cloud-based systems. Besides the Free version, Gem Accounts also offers SME and Midmarket-Enterprises versions.

Quick, somebody do a count on how many low-cost small business accounting apps are now in the American market. The press release says the SME version is half the price of the MME software, which the webpage shows is $99 per month for the former and $199 per month for the top of the line. The free version, however, has a limited number of transactions. In a prepared statement, managing director Andrew Crowe said, "Our accounting firm partners want a single product to support internally from their smallest clients through to their largest clients." And I think we've heard about accounting firms as a force in this market before too. The company says its software is multi-currency, multi-language and supports line-by-line eliminations for consolidation.
