The buyer made its intentions clear: "This acquisition is strategic to UXC Eclipse's goal to be the leading Gold Microsoft Dynamics Partner world-wide and to leverage on our existing success in markets across Australian, the Pacific and the Americas," Bradley Stroop, global CEO of the UXC Eclipse Group, said in a prepared statement. Tectura had been the largest U.S. midmarket VAR for several years and in 2012, we estimated its annual revenue at $285 million, which rested on some sound information. I would guess the total has dropped since then. Whatever the case, adding that together with UXC Eclipse should produce a company that is far bigger than any other VAR in this market. UXC Eclipse reported revenue of $85 million annually for this year's VAR Star entry. Under its founder, Terry Petrzelka, Tectura had grown by acquisition until he was forced out in October 2010 and it's widely believed the company had been on the block since then. The official announcement said with the acquisition, UXC Eclipse would have team a staff of more than 600 people and more than 2,700 customers. According to Stroop's LinkedIn page, his company had a staff of at least 400 and more than 1,300 customers. So the difference since then would seem to be largely from the addition of Tectura.

UXC ECLIPSE BUYS TECTURA Featured
UXC Eclipse, which moved into the United States with the purchase of the former Cole Systems, has acquired Tectura, the country's largest midmarket reseller. The amount of the sale was undisclosed. The deal leaves Tectura EMEA and Tectura Asia still operating and apparently fairly sizable. No one should be surprised by the deal for Tectura's North American operations as it had stagnated over the last few years.
