OPEN SYSTEMS BUYS MASTER SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Featured

Application Computer Systems Open Systems has acquired third-party software company Application Computer Systems of Greenville, S.C. Founded in 1978, ACS markets Master Software, which the company describes as an integrated software system for apparatus repair shops that combines job cost, inventory, and distribution with accounting. ACS will integrate Master Software into Open Systems' Traverse accounting system. Open Systems has been expanding integration of products with Traverse, both acquisition and through alliances with developers.

In 2013, such deals included integration with Unisun's Envio produce inventory management software, a preferred vendor relationship with Keystone Solutions, its product, eCommERPbridge, and a partnership with Argus Hosting which hosts Traverse. The software vendor also opened an office in Beaverton, Ore., with the purchase of reseller MicroAccounting Systems. In 2012, Open Systems opened offices in Greenville and in Edmond, Okla., with the purchase of VAR InterMicro and in 2011 in announced a number of strategic relationships. Either Open Systems has done more in this way in the last three years than the last 20 or it is writing more press releases. I'm going with the former.
