PLEX NAMES CFO Featured

Don Clarke, Plex Manufacturing software vendor Plex has named Don Clarke as CFO. Clarke comes to the Troy, Mich.-based cloud company after having spent five years at Eloqua, which produces marketing automation applications, through its IPO in 2012 and purchase by Oracle early last year. Press accounts interpreted this as another part of Plex's own move towards an IPO of its own, supported by statements from Plex CEO Jason Blessing that it is following the steps to get to the public market.

And the Plex press release about Clarke's hiring stresses his experience in raising growth capital and participating in a number of IPOs. At Plex, Clarke joins another Eloqua alum, chief marketing officer Heidi Melin, who held the same job with her former employer, and joined Plex in May. The company has been stocking up on executive talent. Blessing himself joined in January 2013 and the company hired Karl Ederle as the company's VP of product management in December.
